The PM's Daughter was one of the best shows Australia has to offer. ABC Me has a reputation for spawning popular TV shows, including Little Lunch and The InBESTigators, both homegrown kid's comedies which have skyrocketed to TV screens all around the world.
The show focuses on Cat Parkes-Perez, a headstrong girl whose life is shaken up when her mother unexpectedly becomes Australia's newest Prime Minister. She must relocate from Perth to Canberra, leaving behind her friends, home and the memory of her late father. Along the way, she develops tight bonds with Sadie, a political fangirl, and Ollie, the son of PM Perez' Deputy. She also meets Miro, the son of a diplomat who may cause bad news for the PM.
The first episode started off strong, introducing the main character as an independent, headstrong individual who is passionate about the environment and equal rights.
All in all, this is a great show for all ages. For kids, Cat, Sadie and Ollie are desirable role models and the show has an overall theme of resilience and standing up for your beliefs. As each episode went by, the plot became more interesting and made you want to watch more. I would strongly recommend it.
