This is not a movie with a beginning, middle and end. It does not follow western concepts of what a movie should be. The material is done before, and is not new. But it is an exceptionally deep and … soothing movie.
The closest I can compare it to is The Arrival, but only in terms of tone and pacing.
Spaceman showcases a painful and necessary journey for a cosmonaut who has never really treasured what mattered to him. And it takes him being so far away from what he loves most to appreciate it. Simple: oh, so beautiful. I love it. Watch if you like slow burns or narratives that are not plot-driven.
