Switched it off after 20 minutes. The acting was bad and was clearly not going to improve.

Ignore the bad reviews. As a stand alone film, it was much better than expected and has not really dated in 20 years. Some of the acting is bad but it is more of a modern action film with fight scenes. It tells the same story. I am a huge fan of the original which has iconic scenes and has better acting but it is very English and a bit dated.

Strange in places. I hate chick flicks but this was different. Funny in places and with a feel good factor.

90p on Chili which was 90p too much

I understand the of the many pseudo intellectual explanations of this film and it's metaphors. The characters and their interactions when they are stuck in the house together are the only worthwhile reasons for watching. Just wanting Mallory and the children to survive, is the only reason why I got to the end although not even that is not believable. The problem with films like this is, that if you do not believe in unseen things like the supernatural or religion, it just is not scary or believable and is quite laughable at times. Please bring back the old suspense thrillers which were full of things which could happen.

Seriously, a totally ridiculous film. All I can say is what everyone else has already said, it was a mash up of many other film ideas with a stupid plot twist. A family who have suffered a tragedy are put through absolute traumatic terror to reveal what happened to their missing child exactly a year later. An act of kindness done in a very bizarre and terrifying way by unknown entities makes no sense.
