I had high hopes, quickly dashed. The author spends the first chapters applying 21rst century standards to the 18th century history. The book is rife with technical and historical inaccuracies. At first i though it might be at least an interesting read that one could offer a neophyte on the subject, but by the time i was 2/3 of the way thru i could no longer even regard it in that manner. If you are looking for a halfway accurate treatise on this subject look elsewhere
