Even though the cast tried their best, which looks the part very much by the way. However, there is no support from any other department - such as screenplay, cinematography, direction. Nothing. Except for the background score, which I felt was fresh and was not a copy of Rays music ( like Sandeep Rays improvisations ) If Srijit wanted to tell the story like David Suchet stirrer Hercule Poirot series ( I mean the gradual pace to reach to crescendo ), he’s lost the plot totally. Because there was no build up to a thriller, in fact there was never a moment where you feel thrill or an element of mystery ; It was like traveling within Darjeeling on a Holiday during its best weather days & yes without any Socio political disturbances through a web series. Watched knowing I’ll be disappointed. Finished because of Darjeeling & Tota ( he was suave and intelligent ). Anirban was good too, but he has the potential to be great, may be the best Jatayu after Santosh Dutta. He instead looked more like Eken than Jatayu, especially after the last movie “The Eken” which too was shot in Darjeeling a comparison is natural; whether he brings the elements of Jatayu completely depends as to when he gets out of Ekens shell when he is Jatayu ( lesser play with Eken mannerisms and a subtler sharp eye play). Expect a lot more from him.
Overall - it’s a disappointment. A grave one at that. I know you can’t avoid watching it if you are Bengali. But the outcome is written on the wall.
