As has been mentioned elsewhere, Adam Sandler in this role should be a candidate for an Oscar. All the actors turned in excellent performances. That being said, watching this movie was like listening to fingernails on a blackboard for 2 hours 15 minutes. Perhaps, that was the intent of the directors but I left the theater quite unsettled and not because of the plot.
