The Irene and Franklin characters were performed richly. Once the other characters were introduced it became confusing. The chamber, the son’s death and the couple’s relationship with Jude and their beliefs of his past ultimately led to the season’s conclusion. We can only assume what happened to Stella, Toni and Cornelius.
