This movie was written poorly. I appreciate the attempt to touch on social issues of today’s time; however the plot was all over the place. It was a misrepresentation of how social change comes about...look at times nowadays. People have constantly stood up for social issues yet change doesn’t seem to occur. Change begins within someone’s belief system, quite frankly they make it appear as an easy thing. Women have been fighting for rights for centuries, yet there seems to be a slow progression of change. The movie makes its appear to be an easy process and jumps into others traumas. When the character announced she was raped by the main football player that was idolized, everyone was shocked but happy she announced it. In reality, a highschooler wouldn’t just announce that. They are setting social expectations of how victims should handle these situations. Overall, there were too many social issues brought up in one 2 hour movie. The presentation of these issues will impact young audiences perspectives of the issue or will misinterpret the reality and severity of them.
