This is basically every insipid trope trotted out again. Woman commander is beset by doubts and fear for her kid, even though no male astronaut is ever portrayed that way. Racial tropes: soviet guy is a brash, insulting, sexist, Chinese woman is stoic and quiet (although I did like the peril her character was put in and why), black guy isn't even an astronaut (implying that black people can't survive astronaut selection/training), and is a loud xtian. Other than being set in space, it's basically a soap opera. Do not recommend.
