My husband and I have been regular viewers of the show for over 17 years. We made a conscious decision to end our viewership of the “Democratic View”. The topics are always the same, the opinions are always the same— and don’t anyone dare to disagree. The show is a never-ending repeat from one day to the next! Like “Ground Hog Day”! No guests with differing opinions are ever invited on the show. If these ladies want to have a more engaging conversation and debate some serious issues, bring on the guests that may have a significant difference of opinion. It’s all one-sided at that table which makes it so easy to say such awful things without someone at the table to really debate the issue —and I mean really debate! This is an entertainment opinionated show— much like a lot of opinionated shows on Fox. We’re a gay couple, registered as independents, and want to hear both sides of the issues that affect our country and then make a decision on the issue - not because we’re die-hard Democrats or die-hard Republicans. All of us want what is best for the people of this country - we just have different opinions on how to achieve that. Some people want the government to tell them what to do (more taxes and larger government) and some of us would rather make our own decisions on what we think is best for us and our families (less taxes and smaller government). Does the latter make us such horrible people (e.g., roaches, oxymorons)? As an Independent-registered gay couple - I’m not sure what column that puts us in. We’re fiscally conservative but liberal on most social issues. I’d like to think were moderates. My guess is that we would never be welcome on the “Democratic View”. We would be skewered! Realizing that we decided it was time to give it up… adios!
