The Wheel of Time TV series strays so far from the books that it is amazing that it is called the Wheel of Time. How do I know this? Because I have read all 15 of the books at least three times, that's how good the books are. In contrast the series sucks. 1) Main characters are 5 young people from the same village, four of them would be in their late teens and one probably in her early twenties when the series begins. In the TV series, not even close. One is married and kills his wife, where they got that idea from is anyone's guess, but it isn't in the books. 2) None of the characters in the books are gay or lesbian or queer or any of that, what does the director do, makes Moirane a lesbian. That is how warped this series is. 3) Nynaeve and Lan Mandragoran do not even like each other through the first, what six books, the series has them hopping into bed in the second episode. 4) Padan Fain, nobody knows how rotten he is until much later, or that he is even a dark friend. Again, boom right off the start, where is the mystery? The list is unending, Matt, Perrin, and Lan are reduced to secondary roles, but the books are all about how these three are connected. Don't waste your time on this series, read the books and really enjoy the majesty and intricacy of Robert Jordan's amazing series. If they could make the Lord of the Rings and Narnia true to the books, why did they have to pervert the Wheel of Time series? You could not pay me to watch this series, ever.
