Looking forward to something? "Teleport to tomorrow" by going to sleep early...such a lovely spin on this story's spark of creativity. The way the characters seem to teleport from scene to scene throughout this movie is beautifully done and not something I've seen crafted in such a subtle way ever before. Pure joy, calmness, and thoughtfulness quietly floats out of the girls as they play together and perform simple tasks like cooking, eating, and role playing. This is a very relaxing movie and it need not meet the logical expectations of real life in order to connect with a person's past enjoyment of fort building, board games, and pancake making. It is a slow burn that gently tugs at the glue holding your childhood memories in the back of your mind. Nelly and her mom in the car near the start of the movie is painfully charming and worth watching at least up until then. I stayed up and watched this movie after everyone went to bed so I wouldn't have to worry if others were bored and I could just enjoy the simplistic beauty that emerged from sorrow and a walk in the forest.
