This film is basically a coming-of-age drama with a slight twist. Overall, it was okay. I don’t regret watching it but I wouldn’t watch it again. I thought it had a beautiful message of living by embracing the present. My main complaint is that a few scenes (like the Justin Bieber performance) are cringey. Some aspects of the plot weren’t believable..like Chad being able to see Ray’s older self at the end. And there are some parts that drag and feel boring. Maybe it’s the script? Maybe it’s some of the acting? This movie feels like the blueprint for something beautiful but fails to fully realize everything it set out to accomplish.

“Love is a dog from hell” Do yourself a favor and don’t read any reviews prior to watching. It will skew your expectations and you need to go into this film without any. It is NOT a horror film. Nor is it overtly sexual or gratuitously violent. Mainly the only violence that occurs is in the first 30 mins of the film and it’s necessary to explain the character and show her progression over the remainder of the story. That being said, if you can get through the first 30 minutes you will thoroughly enjoy this strangely beautiful and heartwarming film.
