I resisted going to see this movie thinking it would be silly. In fact I saved it for a day that I thought some fluff would be a good foil for the “real” world. It is a surprisingly powerful film. Not the adjective I ever imagined I would use. Yes it was fun, and silly, and whimsical but the message is almost painful to hear. Especially for us older women who watched woman slowly find a place in the world over the past sixty years and are watching that place being eroded at an alarming rate. Unexpected and well worth seeing.
