This game is fantastic. The engine works well and it is still a great game for 2021. I have reverted back to this title since the weapons management is far superior to COD. In battlefield the bullets make contact with the opponent and depending on the gun class and accuracy, 1-5 rounds will take them down. In COD it requires a full magazine of which the opponent turns around and kills you in one shot. I feel battlefield attracts a certain type of player. Online multiplayer, especially in Operations mode, can become very unbalanced but a change in tactic and strategy can drastically change the direction of the game.
Unfortunately as Battlefield 1 is 5 years old it is lacking in users and servers. A new game mode, map pack and a graphics update for PS4 Pro/PS5 and some advertising would revamp the game and bring back the loyal players. Game matching requires improvement, but it always has.
Bringing in some additional in game details and features would be great, such as the possibility of increased destruction on the battlefield and a change in the way buildings and vehicles aesthetically show their damage. Greater crumbling of houses, craters becoming deeper, trenches and landscapes becoming more sodden and more difficult to manoeuvre as areas become damaged and abused.
An extended (almost) unending online sandbox battle mode would also be interesting. A vast landscape with two opposing armies that continue to battle each other over prolonged periods. Reducing resources and weapon choices as time passes. Players who leave will be replaced momentarily, but a mosh of vehicles, infantry, trenches and traps replicating real world events would keep people enticed.
