A very, VERY, watered-down version of what this franchise used to be.
They keep adding to gameplay but there's still not much you can do that actually makes the game interesting. (Sims having no long-term memories that player can look up makes everything feel kind of pointless, especially for players who play one family for multiple generations)
Build mode is very good, but the lack of swatches makes even the building boring after a few plays (Sims 2 style swatches were my favorite, where you could choose color of the wood and color of the textile separately)
Not to mention it's very slow and often buggy (slow as in sims take A LOT of time to do things, or simply walk, but their motives also go down SO SLOWLY there's a sense of boredom instead of the rush too keep them balanced between staying alive and getting stuff done)
It was bad at release but lately it's been getting a little better overall. That's really all I can say after all these years and so many packs.
