I can understand why overall reviews are split for this movie and there are some shortcomings. However, I enjoyed the movie overall. It had enough thrills to keep me engaged. Positives: +You want some good Dino action in a Dino movie & this movie delivers some great action! The T-rex River sequence is one of the best scenes in the franchise. The sequences with Mosasaurus & Spinosaurus are unique too. +Acting was decent. All 3 leads did a good job. +The pacing is good. I read few reviews saying first half is boring. I thought it moved along fairly well. There are some chit chat scenes but you can't just have 2 hours of non-stop action. +Stunning locations of Thailand. +The Drex is truly horrifying. It seems to be a cross between a T-rex & an Alien. +Dolores aquilops! Negatives: - The plot of the movie could have been more fleshed out. It does introduce new locations with some new dinosaurs but overall is not quite a "Rebirth". - Dialogues could be better. - The people who are going to get gobbled up are predictable. - Some throwbacks to past movies are good but there are too many in this one. - The finale does not match the same highs as some of the previous movies. If you have very high expectations in the plot/story area then it is probably 50/50. However, the movie is enjoyable despite the shortcomings.
