The Director who also wrote the story and screenplay of the film does not have a great filmography. His only claim to fame is the Dhoom series, which was more about style than substance. He is a Yasjraj fav. And Yasjraj cannot remain away from melodrama for too long. In trying to make something unique and never seen before it seems to have over cooked the plot to the extent that even an AB or an AK fails to resurrect the weak film. Even the VFX which apparently is the USP of the film look outdated on a few occasions. Would have been wow if it was made 5 years back. Having seen Bahubali 1 & 2 and Robot 2.0 in the offing the attempt in this one looks feeble. Action scenes are OK. But pace gets dragged at times. Needed better editing. Music by Atul Ajay who have been fabulous in recent finds did not do justice to their abilities. Refreshing though to hear Shreya Ghoshal after sometime. The songs are random and does not add anything to the storyline. Big Bs is an extension of his portrayal of Badshah Khan from the film Khuda Gawa. The only saving grace for me is still AK. But even for him the poor script is too heavy a burden to carry it forward beyond a certain point. A big disappointment. My rating 2/5.
