The first time I watched this movie is when I fell in love with it. It was just months ago but I can always remember crying at the end of the movie and that rarely happens unless a dog dies in a movie. Anyway, you get to go along with Marie Antoinette from her rise and inevitable downfall. Every time I watch it, I get so into it that I just hope for a different ending; however, that is not the case and it makes me sad. The ending always gets to me, mainly because you experience 2 hours of romance, opulence, and you grow a relationship with the characters. Although the vocabulary may be hard to follow at times given the era it was made, I enjoy it nevertheless and it will always remain one of my favorite movies ever. And I do secretly wish that the movie was filmed in color as it was supposed to be, but black and white movies always seem to be so mysterious and intriguing and I don't think they would have gotten the same emotional output if it was in color—maybe.
