This film is ohh-kaaaaay but ... I kept waiting for bigger "shoes to drop". The priest brother is gay ... and I wanted a relationship to develop, but nothing happened. This COULD have been a GREAT opportunity to have the local small town arch conservative Catholic congregation go-apesh*t when they discover their new student priest challenges their homophones prejudices (all of which are latent and subterranean in the film) ... and as a sub-plot show the sexual hypocrisies happening in the church congregation (also hinted at vaguely). Instead it just centrred on a bit of weed smoking and some early 20's drinking. For me ... this could have been a much more hard-hitting film, but it stayed on the safe side of controversy. ESPECIALLY with Trump regaining the Whitehouse, and red-necked conservatism taking over the US now - ballsy, anti-religious thought-control needs to be called out more than ever. I'd like to see a remake ... but this time with teeth! If you're a true liberal, and believe in gay rights, take a look at Aquarians and see if you agree.
