Along with Michael Winner and Stanley Kubrick, Ken Russell is one of my all time favourite movie directors and Michael Caine is one of my all time favourite actors, also I love spy movies, so in theory this should be one of the best movies I've ever seen, however...
To be honest it's all a bit of a mess this second sequel to the iconic "The Ipcress File" Michael Caine is as always superb in the role of Harry Palmer, his third and final cinema outing (he would go on to play the character in two TV movies which I've yet to see) and Ken Russell creates support stunning visuals, just something really doesn't work, it's all a bit over the place with only a smattering of connections to the original movie - cinema trivia fans may spot Donald Sutherland and Susan George in minor roles.
