The Series, and the plot at its core, are compelling, addictive even when firing on all cilinders. However it feels like some possible plot directions have been left abandoned mid season for some reason or the other. As such the ending gives food for thought at first, but then slowly degrades in "but how did that unfold? Where did that need to lead to?" etc. The other limiting factor, even though overall acting was great was the, at times, tonal differences. One moment you are sucked into a vague and ominous mystery while the next moment sees the show follow the antics of stoner teens calling each other dude while making puns. At those points it feels like there is a disconnect between the shows "Dark and Ominous" mystery thriller and "Teen Comedy". Still a good watch, but not as highly praised as some others in its genre.

Great visuals for a lazy write-up. Lore wise this one did nothing other then lazily put people in the path of what once should have been dino's. Better then Dominion, but a low bar to exceed still...

Should have called it Pooltergeist... So lets say the Amithyville house had a pool which was build on an old Pet Cemetary which acts as a doorway to another dimension of the dead... Basically it takes 80's cult classic idea's and tries to shoe-horn them into the 2024....with a pool! Suffice to say it doesnt tread water...

I really enjoyed the underlying tone of the movie. The protagonists fight between femminimity and dedicating her life to fairytale religion. The socio-cultural comment on the 1970’s italy’s post war stance on Americans also hit home more then any vaginal fist bump scene could. Sadly we had to leave after said scene. All in all I would recommend the first (free) half of this movie!

I did not go into the cinema with high expectations, just for 2 hours of dino action with a twinkle of nostalgia. Instead I got a 2 hour slog through what appears to be a hybrid experiment gone bad (and we all know how bad those end). For the first half of the movie most of the story just seems to put set pieces together in which “it would be cool to have a dinosaur” linking together protagonists and story in just enough of a bare bones plot to justify the entire cast from old to new to unite. What follows is a second half which basicly does the same… Without the set dressing and with lots more (dino?) action. Which for a JP film sounds great… If the plot did not go off the rails with illusions of grandeur and action scenes which simply rehashed what has been done before…with feathers… So lets take a page from doctor Malcoms book and agree that dinosaurs had their time, and should remain extinct…

A beautiful tale of a woman confronting the male opression she has had to deal with all of her life. Finally embracing her own body to be hers to control. A beautiful rendition of modern day feminism in male dominated culture.
