I do not understand why there are people giving this a negative review. Its 2025 and there has been nothing but trash out for many years, we get possibly 1 or 2 good films a year now. For me personally, this is my movie of the year, Its not perfect, it have flaws but comparing it to the trash we are forced to watch these days, it really gives me hope for the movie industry.
Its deep and detailed, it gives multiple perspectives on a siutation that could occur at any moment, its emotional and realistic. The only thing it is missing is CGI footage of the collision of the Nuke. (which is where the negative reviews come from). Which would turn this into some silly movie instead of a serious drama which is it intended to be.
But I do wish we saw the outcome, That they focused an extra 30mins longer to the film for retaliation, they do leave you with a huge cliff hanger and it does give you time to think what you would do or discuss the correct choice, if there even is a correct choice. Maybe they did it because any reason would have essentially ruined the movie or made it worse. You could have gone the arrogant 'We're America' way and blew up multiple nations, causing the destruction of the world (far fetched). You could have gone down the stand down and surrender route which make the US look weak. I love it when movies like this comes out, especially when there are difficult times and circumstances going on in the world right now, it gives you thought to reflect on the uncertainties going on and how a singular missile strike could destroy this entire earth we call home.
Its worth a watch, its a political drama, it you are expecting war and action and nuclear battles then you are sadly going to be disappointed. But if you enjoy emotion and to feel the depth of this type of situation. Then you will love this move.
