Eddington starts out slow, but just when you think it is starting to get good, it turns goofy. When I left the theater, every person was trying to figure out if they just did not understand the movie or it was simply horrible. Unfortunately, the latter was true. It is an attempt at a modern Western that is saturated with political references. around 90 minutes into the movie a new "villain" is introduced and this new arc is a waste of time. The only reaction from the audience was the gasps and chuckles during the full frontal male nudity. There were less than a dozen people in the theater and every one of them left the show complaining about bad the movie was.
This is not going to be one of those sleeper masterpieces people hate on the bug screen and rave about during streaming. Few people will complete this movie if they are not paying for it. The only reason to finish watching this movie is the fallacy of sunken costs regarding your time.
There were so many amazing actors featured in this film. Their acting is not the downfall of the movie. The horrible writing and storyline sunk this movie.
