I made it 70% of the way through before giving up. Stunningly tedious & completely ridiculous. Not a good combo !

Not good. Two separate, unrelated storylines, with the identities of the killers in each disclosed in a 10 page section about 40% of the way into the book. So much for the mystery. Endless padding, repetitive descriptions of Chicago winter weather, sometimes using the same phrases five pages apart. Curious digressions into the thoughts of very minor characters which are then not developed or followed-up on. Needed a ruthless editor !
