The acting was surprisingly bad and the portrayal of the fetus was unrealistic and felt slightly like a mockery. I was unable to enjoy it and take it seriously because it was so clearly simplified and sexualized to appeal to the male gaze. I thought the visuals were quite beautiful but I disliked what they did with the part of the storyline involving her fetus and eventual abortion. I did not appreciate the infantilization of her as a person. It felt so completely patronizing to her and I understand that this is an adaptation of a written story but I truly don't think it was executed at all. I understand that this is just my taste and opinion but it didn't feel tasteful or worthwhile.
