(SPOILERS)
It was seriously hype the first duration of episodes but then it kinda fell off later on. I mean it was still good but it wasnโt as good as the first episodes.
PROS:
-I see a lot of people saying that it kept killing some of the main characters off too quickly and brutally but to me it seemed very realistic. If they kept all the main characters in the end it would seem โnontransparentโ cuz itโs a zombie apocalypse film so death is inevitable. So the experience felt more real at least to me.
-I liked how complex some of the issues were delivered. We got to see that the main bully was pretty much irredeemable but then we saw a little more of Nayeon and how she arguably wasnโt a complete brat (she at least tried to help her classmates in the end). Especially in an apocalyptic setting, itโs refreshing to see some of the โantagonistsโ being portrayed more deeply instead of them being showcased as 1 dimensional a-holes. Or one of our portrayed โheroes,โ jimin, who (despite all that theyโve gone through together) left that other girl to get eaten to save herself.
CONS:
-I donโt know if it was just me but the main girl annoyed me a lot; the actress that played her was also not that great (imo). Esp in the aftermath scene of when cheongsan and her dad died, or when she was comforting jimin, her crying portrayal seemed very bland and just non expressive.
-that โnon zombie and non humanโ concept that was seen with eunji, bully dude, and namra was stupid tbh; it never even got explained and just seemed to be a filler obstacle and defense mechanism for the main characters to deal with.
There were many more that bothered me but since Iโm running out of characters Iโll leave it at that. Whether you love this show or hate this show I will respect whatever opinion. But Train to Busan will forever remain South Koreaโs best zombie/apocalyptic film. Peace.
