Let me start off by saying, it wasn’t a conscious decision to watch this movie, and thank god it wasn’t, because I’d never forgive myself for watching it willingly. There were a lot of problems in this movie, but let’s address the first and biggest one: Bilal’s anger issues. Why are we romanticising a definitely verbally abusive (and potentially physically abusive) man-child who needs a replacement mom instead of a wife? Who thought that the world needed another movie of the same trope that’s been around forever? And who are there people who are leaving 5 star reviews? Wasted an hour of my life smh. And the directors need to do better!!
