I have say this has been the biggest disappointment I have had from "The Show"......ever really! Don't get me wrong, the content is great. The graphics are stunning and even game play (minus the barely jogging to 1st on a ground ball) is good.
The fact that they allow your opponents to see where your PCI is this year has completely ruined the game for me (and I'm sure many others) this year. To most players this means absolutely nothing. To a player like me who really loves this game but can't "zone" hit to save my life, it's devastating. The second your opponent sees you are zone hitting, it is extremely easy to throw EVERYWHERE except down the middle. In previous years when they had no clue, they would throw down the middle much much more because they had no clue where your PCI (or lack there of) was placed. So if they threw in the mid-high zone and you hit a double off them. They might try and sneak a slider by on the next pitch and you could drop a bomb on em.This year, they have absolutely no reason to do anything but stay away from the middle. You might think this is common sense anyways....but it's not at all.
I used to do awesome in the events games...I would get enough wins to get the highest player award every time I sat there and grinded for it. This year, I can barely win 2 or 3 event games. It has about destroyed the game for us (non elite) players who are not good enough to zone hit. Maybe I'm just getting to old to play The Show anymore...but I just think it was such an unnecessary change....and for those of you using the, well they can see where the batter was swinging in real life.
#1 so can you while looking from the exact same view basically as the pitcher would have in real life.
#2 The MLB pitchers DO NOT have a lil box that pops up every time the batter swings to tell them where they were aiming.
Anyways, I hope this changes next year or not only will I not be pre-ordering it, I won't even touch it. So unnecessary....smh
