Honestly after reading some brutal reviews I wasn’t expecting much from this movie. I’m a 41 millennial and mean girls original was something I watched at the theater when it first came out. I really liked the original and didn’t know it would turn into this “iconic” movie. Anyhow, I’m also big in musicals but I really don’t like Disney musicals. after reading some of the brutal reviews, I had expectations of the actors being bad and cheesy like Disney musicals. I was pleasantly surprised with the first song at the opening of the movie, I really like the energy of Janis and Damien when they sang together. Honestly I felt like all the actors did an awesome job trying to live up to the legend of “Mean Girls”. You can tell they really wanted to do this “classic” some justice. Some gave heat that Regina isn’t small and dainty like the original but I liked the actress that played her. She wasn’t an actress pretending to be Regina, she is Regina. Besides it’s 2024 and this young generation is different from our generation and I’m okay with that. All in all it was a delightful mix of both the past and present so yes take advantage of paramount plus’s and watch it
