Contrary to all the glowing reviews I just read Iโm afraid I found this book annoying.
The central character has such a huge amount of support from her parents, sister and physio, but seems to be very hard on them.
Expecting the physio (Ian) to be pally and not just professional. Expecting the mother particularly, to be perfect and being very blaming towards her.
My own mother was a not dissimilar character and would have been a huge support in a similar situation, tbh I think Margaret is very childish and blaming towards her which I found contrived and a bit annoying.
The parents use all their insurance allowance; visit every day; offer to have her come and live with them and still get shouted at !
Chip is non character and badly written from the off so never counts much in the story.
Moments like Ian using abusive language to Chip on one visit are just silly really.
Itโs not a good book, sorry !
