I just finished reading this book and I ended up not exactly loving it but I did like it. The story is not super thrilling and parts that could have been felt too rushed. I wasn't on the edge of my seat the whole time but, despite this, there were moments that were deeply chilling. Not scary per say, but enough to give you a distinct feeling of unease and dread. It is very thought provoking with an important message about treating nature with respect and that violence can't be solved with more violence. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who is looking for a horror book that is nail biting, sleep with the lights on scary, but if you are okay with deeply unsettling, this is it.
