Zulu is one of my favorite movies, and has been since I first saw it in the 60โs. I loved its action scenes as a kid, but I appreciate it even more now that Iโm older. The cinematography is outstanding, the landscape beautiful, and both British soldiers and Zulu warriors are magnificent. It made me a Michael Caine fan, although I think only Get Carter and The Man Who Would Be King were films on the same level.
Perhaps the best thing about the movie is the respect it shows to both sides in the battle, and the respect they show for each other. The Zuluโs salute to their brave opponents at the end is still stirring for me. Anyone who calls this movie racist or imperialistic has either never actually seen it or totally missed its point.
