Film has the power to transform reality and convey the deepest truths of the human condition. From the opening scene, through the horrific bird attacks and burning forests, to the final scene, this film held me to my seat like a 5G drop. Hitchcock's work was a hastily drawn cartoon sketch compared to the work of this film. The dialogue offered layered meaning to the wider themes of climate change, greed, and the need to survive and be accepted in the modern world where we are our own enemy. The children, with their constant calls of "I'm hungry" punctuate our collective need to be fed, but not of the body, but the of the soul.
Who am I kidding. It would have been a one-star at best on the wide synapse theatre circuit! Rifftrax made it gold! That is why I gave it five stars.
