I would give it 3 stars coz I just like these guys and got what I expected - 2 cool guys doing cool things, with a number of sly winks to the usual spy action genre.
BUT, (and I can't believe ive seen no one mention this) there are THREE MASSIVE HUGE holes in this story as presented.
I cannot believe that the editors and writers and director or continuity person didn't pick up on 5 GIGANTIC CONTINUITY errors.
1) The dead kid is covered in blood from crashing through glass. The woman who it's shown/proven at the end is nowhere near when this happens, gets SOAKED in HIS blood pulling out her purse.
Pitt reminds Clooney not to get any of all the splattered and pooled under the body blood on him, when he is charged with disposing of the dead body...
I can wear the super drug made him seem dead, but what was all that blood??? Why was it there? We see him running in his tighty whiteys and his whole body is pristine..
2 On that, he is found to have crashed onto his stomach face down and the blood ostensibly came pouring out of his lacerated stomach. But then at the end it's shown that he fell backwards onto his back???
3 Also, in the story his reason for crashing was he decided to try the drug. But none of the packets were open???
4 Pitt slices open the pony hanging on the bag (that Mr perfect clooney somehow didn't notice???? That sliced open pony was much like the kids guts, suddenly in pristine condition later in the film. WTAF???
5 ALSO speaking of the pony, the reason for slicing it open was that when Pitt accidentally finds the bag he cuts it open to check for a tracker... BUT THEY BOTH DONT CONSIDER A TRACKER IN THE ACTUAL BRICKS OF DRUGS??????
I'm easily pleased, and am a sucker for Hero Action movies like this, but maybe Hollywood needs to hire me to check their continuity because all too often these modern movies seem to be slapped together like someone retelling a dream where the story keeps changing and facts from the start are totally different later on...
An example of this was that Demi Moore movie The Substance (spoilers obv)
Basically a real world is created, where the only break from our true reality is The Substance in question working how it does. But that's an easy thing to accept. It's our world, but this is a new invention/medical tech.
Then right near the end, there's a fight in an apartment and someone punches or kicks someone in the guts and they literally fly 20ft or more across the room???? WHAT? When did a "normal woman" suddenly get Hulk or Superman strength???
Dear Hollywood. Do better😡😤
