The way the story is told, using flash backs and weaving the threads of the sisters stories simultaneously was very effect. Having read the book and having seen various film adaptations over the years some of the license taken with characters; Jo is pretty not plain, her professor eventual beau is handsome and young, not middle aged and paunchy. These struck me as false. But effective. It was really beautifully done. We were a few minutes late but 14 minutes after arriving my eyes began to mist. No doubt because I knew the ending. That always makes it difficult to be in the moment of the story.
