The movie is very inaccurate and doesn't show important details of Napoleons military career. The movie skips over the entire Italian campaign during 1798-1800 and doesn't show the crossing of the alps which is one of the most iconic idea we see of Napoleon. The movie also has inaccurate uniforms and musket/rifle technology. During the battle of Waterloo, they did not have snipers during that time. The movie also skipped the war of the fourth coalition (1806-1807), the fifth coalition (1809), and war of the sixth coalition (1813-1814). Each battle that took place was historically inaccurate. During the battle of Austerlitz, Soult actually pushed up in the center when both Russia and Austria assaulted Napoleon's right flank. In the movie, it just shows a big charge over a frozen lake which is historically inaccurate. When it shows the battle of Borodino, there are no redoubts and doesn't showcase any important commanders such as Pyotr Bagration or Louis Nicolas Davout. During the battle of Waterloo, they did not use trenches at all and didn't even mention about the soggy wet terrain for their cannons, specifically the french cannons. It also shows the British advancing and then square which is also historically inaccurate, they actually retreated. When the cavalry charges, marechal Ney is not shown leading the cavalry charge and there was infantry supporting. This is not at all what the batlte of Waterloo was like, it was when Ney was dumbfounded and thought Wellington was retreating and had no infantry support while charging. Also, when the last charge/advance was taking place THERE WAS NO OLD GUARD! IT WAS JUST LINE INFANTRY! Also, Napoleon NEVER EVER took command of the cavalry nonetheless the cavalry charges. That role was specifically for cavalry leaders such as Murat, Lassale, Ney, Kellerman, and ETC. Honestly, I wished it also introduced the marechals of France too.
