I appreciated the scale feeling larger than the animated film and the overall impact of it being live action. It definitely added something to the feeling of the movie. I could carry on with praise, however I would say that for future adaptations some scenes being lengthened is great. especially exploring character arcs with more internal conflict. it is definitely there, but with a live action there's potential for maybe even adding scenes to explore it further! plus the character relationships with additional scenes/ interactions thrown in there. since it's not animated the length can be played with more freely in scenes that will be filmed anyway. For example; maybe after hiccup's escape plan is foiled there is another interaction in the forge, continuing the conflict with Astrid there and adding something more meaningful to not only their relationship but both of the character's internal conflict in the third act event. If I could speak to the director, I would certainly say all this along with mountains of praise!
