I'm aware of the critical role stream and have watched at least half an episode and really enjoyed it. But playing D&D is much more fun than watching others play it no matter how awesome they are.
TLoVM on the other hand is pure bliss, it is everything I love from every D&D campaign I've ever played. Crass, juvenile jokes, ultra violent turn based (with the speed turned up to 11) fight sequences, great (if a little typical) characters, and a fairly fun (if a little dark) story line. What's not to love.
