Over choreographed, over acted, bloated and great after 40 minutes with Harry Connick Jr as Daddy Warbucks. Entertaining with flips and choreography that got repetitive.
A great timely show overactive, hammy with a better second act. Nice crowd scenes in we'd like to thank you Herbert Hoover. FDR cabinet and scenes with Connick took on fun NYC and made it a pleasure. Cuts in dialigue lost show continuity. But a nice night of entertainment if overly gaudy. Other Live shows have suffered bad acting as well in Sound if Music. Hairspray was timeless with Jennifer Hudson. And Peter Pan was 5/5 quality. Annie over produced and under performed as a vehicle foe Christmas. Fun in over acted scenes to some extent.
Taraji P Henson really was an untMed over acted hammy jot mess. By final curtain it was a 3 star here and there. 4 star with Connivk but a 2 star overall. One of the least successful over staged Live Musicals. It'll Shop of Horrors would be a terrific choice next year.
