I genuinely am shocked how horrible this movie was. I say this outside of liking the book; as a person who loves film, even unironically likes bad movies— I don’t think I’ve ever watched a worse movie in my life. I don’t think I’ve ever paid money for a movie, got through 90% of it and didn’t at least watch the ending out of time invested. I just did that and tbh I am borderline OFFENDED by a24 for producing something so bad that it wasn’t even just “boring” or “cheesy” or unremarkable. It was so bad, in summation, that I’ve never left a Google review on a movie, yet I felt the need to type all of this.
