TARZAN, THE APE MAN, is a movie vehicle for Miss Bo Derek, and of course, Miles O’Keefe, WITH BEAUTIFUL BODIES & FACES for exhibition that the film doesn’t need an intelligent script. Richard Harris lends credibility as the estrange and strange father which gives the movie depth in its primitive nature. The laws of the jungle are wild and very animalistic, not human understanding. Survival of the fittest in all ways without articulation. Interesting to watch how the players end up. Kind of reminds me of the Blue Lagoon, living to survive or surviving to live.

Interesting take on lycanthropy with a mild, mannered, dedicated book editor, played by Jack Nicholson, in a modern setting of civilization, whose bitten by a wolf. James Spader, (sleeping with Jacks wife ) & yuppie opposition adds more thrills becoming a wolf once he is bitten by Jack. Pfeiffer beautiful in performance & subtlety with the symbolic ugliness of the werewolf ! Worth watching!

WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS FILM TO YOUNGER CROWD! HORRIFYING FILM OF YOUNG MAN THAT HAD EVERYTHING BUT NO ONE WAS REALLY LISTENING TO HIM NOT EVEN HIS FIANCÉE! IT WAS NULL & VOID ON HIS WHOLE PERSON! EVEN WHEN HE TRIED TO CONFESS ALL THE MURDERS, MUTILATIONS & CANNIBALISM WITH NO RELEASE FOR HIS CRIMES; HE WAS STYMIED! BALES PUTS OUT A SOLID PERFORMANCE & CERTAINLY WASNT BATMAN IN THIS!

Cc THE PLAYERS DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB WITH EACH OF THEIR CHARACTERS BUT THIS IS A NOEL COWARD PLAY FROM MIDDLE LAST CENTURY & THE COMIC RELIEF IS OUTDATED, TRULY! WHEN WE’VE GOT CURRENT SCREENPLAY WRITERS LIKE CAMERON, STONE, TARANTINO, COPPOLA, SOMMERS, LARSON, ROTH, SO MANY OTHER WRITERS IN THESE MODERN TIMES WHO HAVE THE RIGHT VIBE ON PEOPLE, PLACES & THINGS. BLITHE SPIRIT WAS CUTE & WE ARE SURE COWARD WOULD CRINGE AT THE THOUGHT HIS PLAY WAS PASSE’ !

IT SEEMS AS THOUGH RICHARD HAS HALF HIS BUCKET LIST GIVEN BY HIS STUDENTS & THE OTHER HALF FROM HIS WHIMS OF LIVING OPPOSITE OF THE ORDERLY, ORGANIZED LIFE. HES GIVING HIS STUDENTS THE GIFT OF THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX, LETTING THEM VENTURE INTO UN-ADAPTED TEXTS OF OTHERS THOUGHTS IN TEXT. DEPP WAS A NATURAL FOR THIS ROLE, AS THE NOW, INSPIRING "PROF" & UNDULY ACCEPTING THE INEVITABLE. Interesting.

OPIN: Its all untrue, not authentic at all. Even costumes looked like some came from 80's backlot costumes. Marian was speaking AMERICAN & the truck loaded with loot that went under road was taken from ITALIAN JOB...WAS WAITING FOR CHARLIZE TO DRIVE BY WITH MINI COOPER. ACTORS WERE WASTED ON HOKEY SCRIPT. FARE THEE WELL....

My FAM liked the movie, Hunter Killer; IT WAS unique in Navy sub rescuing 3 Russian soldiers, one of which is a Captain, who is enlisted to help them with rescue of his Russian President (under Russian armed guards THRU the Minister of the Military gone awry) & 3 American soldiers. Strong leads from Butler, Oldman, NYQUIST & WELL DONE SCRIPT! SHAME PEOPLE ARENT WATCHING UPDATED WAR FILMS ANYMORE, ITS A SERIOUS THREAT TO OUR COUNTRY TO BE LAX, IN ANY WAY!
