Detective Inspector Jimmy Perez is a man who knows the depths of sorrow who has great empathy for others and this animates his thoughts and actions. Douglas Henshaw as DI Perez is my favorite Brit detective of all time. He is deep and thoughtful and transparent all wrapped up in a character of incredible intelligence and strength. His supporting cast, especially DS Alison O’Donnell as DS Alison ‘Tosh’ Macintosh and Steven Robertson as DC Sandy Wilson, are the perfect fit for his character. Love this show. So good to be watching and thinking about it again...

I am reduced to emotional rubble from laughter and tears from the opening to the closing. One of my favorite soundtracks as well, highlighting standards and music by Harry Connik, Jr. to include the signature "It Had To Be You"... One of my favorite movies of all time, I just watched it with my son for his first time and my... 11th...? Hard to keep track. Billy Crystal's constantly flowing handcrafted 'philosophical logic' cracks me up every time he's on-screen and Meg Ryan is wonderfully strong and vulnerable and quirky as the perfect "female friend." But of course we know that men and women and never be friends...
