Superb version. With only minimal adjustments to dialogue and plot, alowing for easier, more ‘modern’ comprehension (ok with me) . Knightly and MacFadyen are perfectly cast as the leads. The whole cast brilliantly assembled. Joe Wright in total control with a marvellous eye for period detail. Cinematography (film) is stunning. Donald Sutherland makes for a great ‘Mr Bennett’ and Judy Denche’s cameo a joy as always. Nice to see Jenna Malone, as one if the sisters, a nice surprise after her scene-stealing turn ( when a young child) when she appeared in “Contact”. Just how DO the Brits produce so many great actors ??

A slightly unsettling story. Unresolved grief ? Irrational behaviour ? Or, re-incarnation. A fine cast of seasoned actors. Even an appearance by Aussie stage actor legend: Zoe Caldwell. Nicole Kidman as the fragile and troubled widow. Danny Houston great as always. Young Mr Bright’s performance is mesmerising. He, and ALL the other actors give first class performances too. AND…what a chance to see the legendary Lauren Bacall !

First rate. Caton deserved the AACTA award, Jeremy Sims too. Not a dud performance, tho’ Jacki Weaver (brilliant as she is) possibly mis-cast ? Albeit a solid and faithful supporter of the Aussie film industry, as she is, when working exclusively in Hollywood must be a reasonable temptation. Sublime cinematography from Steve Arnold is eye-popping.

A taught, wicked horror show. Marvellous performances. A cautionary tail for would-be Air-B&B’ renters.

An electric slow burn. The thin veneer of American middle class-class values, wickedly and drastically slides into, ‘Fargo”- like moral bankruptcy. Both gripping and original. Whoever Dan Brown is, he’s clearly a director worth keeping an eye out for next ouvre ? (Retired cameraman. Australia).
