I am the painter in the photograph on the cover of the paperback edition that preceded the recent anniversary edition. I was not acknowledged as being the artist in the photo, even though the photographer made sure that he received credit. Bailey seems to have written serially on the works and lives of painters. Vermeer, Velazquez, etc.,. I suppose that may have been a factor in his approving that cover. It is nice photo. The painting I did of Water Street is also pretty good.
