Would not recommend. The previews are incredibly misleading. This is not a movie for the faint of heart, and it is definitely not a movie for children. It is fast-paced, it is interesting, and if you let your young child, watch it, you will regret your choices. There is so much trauma in this movie, so many inappropriate scenes that don’t even need to be here to help the story move along, I really don’t understand why someone felt the need to write a story in this way. The abject cruelty and horror of kidnapping a child at Christmas, as well as watching the main character lose two parents and be abused at the hands of his aunt, really ruin this “Christmas” movie. Professor McGonagall (if you will), adds a lot, but she can’t make up for the decency this movie lacks. Hard pass.
