Just watched. Huge Jane Austen fan and was completely charmed by this delicious (and REALLY sexy) retelling of one of her novels. Bowen Yang may be the most relatable version of “Jane” that I’ve ever seen, giving his characters sweet sincerity and romantic yearnings an authenticity that pulls you completely in…Joel Kim Booster who wrote, produced and becomes our modern “lizzy” is beautiful and fierce and a hella protagonist, Margaret Cho is a scene stealer as the lesbian house mom who should not be underestimated and Conrad freaking Ricamora manages to embody everything a Darcy must be (off putting, haughty, gorgeous, heroic). The film manages to be a “mature content” movie that at its heart is a real family film.
