I’m unsure exactly what to rate this book, because most of it was “meh” to me, but some of it was good, and some of it was terrible. The first 3 chapters were pretty bad in my opinion. It was weird and the way it was written had no emotion. Felt like it was written by a robot. In ways, it was a bit confusing to me. Chapter 4-5 was pretty good, but then it slowed down a bit from there. After reading to like chapter 14, I was tired of reading it, but was also kinda intrigued at the same time. I sped read mostly through the book, till I got to the last few chapters. The story seemed to be drawn out a little and maybe a little slow. It was okay, but not anything special. Part 3 was good though. It was very interesting and suspenseful. I really enjoyed the last few chapters of the book. You could see the romance flourishing and the suspense of not knowing what the main character is gonna do. I’m not sure to give this book 2 stars or 3 stars. I have so many mixed feelings about it. It was too long and drawn out for my taste, the writing style was not my favorite, but had a unique concept, and I enjoyed the romance. I would say it’s a 2 1/2 star book, but I can’t give it that.

This book was unique in its own way, but it was very slow. The writing style was not my favorite, as it felt cold, almost like it was written by an ai robot. In the first 11 chapters of it, it was extremely boring to me. It didn’t get better till after I started speed reading it, to finish it. After chapter 11, I felt like it picked up. It did get better and some of it was interesting. (At this point, I started speed reading and skipping over boring parts.) I liked the concept of the magical well, the magical tears, and the ability to stop time. All of that was interesting. However, I felt like a little more could have been done with that. This book focused on the characters and their challenges with their powers and the new king. The book felt odd, and the story was probably a little too drawn out, or at least way too slow at the beginning. The story was cute, but feels like it’s lacking something. Maybe it needed more suspense. There wasn’t any major plot twists that got me, asides for maybe the very last page of the book. I did like the ending of the book for the most part. (This is a Christian book, so there is nothing raunchy in it, and I don’t think there’s a single curse word, so this would be good if you’re looking for a “clean read.”) Most of the book felt like a battle between good and evil, and to me, didn’t really feel worth reading, but you can choose for yourself.

No Major Spoilers here!! :) There’s not many books I really like, but this one was pretty good. Very interesting, and didn’t feel as slow as other books I’ve read. It felt like there was some drama and like there was almost always something happening. Yeah, maybe the book could have been slightly shorter, but it still felt pretty fast-paced to me most of the time. It was very mysterious, but not scary. It was kinda suspenseful, more at the end. It was a nice balance between unrealistic and realistic, but it was more on the realistic side. I’m tired of the whole who killed who thing, but this was done so well. I do feel like you could predict who done it, but it had me second guessing myself at one point or two, and I couldn’t predict everything that would happen. I was hoping that it would be different than who I thought. Still, how it all played out was great, and kinda surprising. This book was very well written and almost felt like watching a movie. I will be checking out more Ruth Ware books!!

This book was alright, but not super great imo. The beginning was okay, but a little slow. And well, most of the book felt a bit slow at times and a little drawn out. It seems that most books feel this way to me, but this feels slower than most I’ve read lately. It’s interesting, but there isn’t quite enough drama going on to keep me interested all the way through. I did like the concept of a money heist. The writer writes decently and there were 2 twists that got me a little, which was a pleasant surprise. If it wasn’t for how slow the book felt, I feel like I would have liked it a lot more. And I think this book had potential, but almost felt too serious for me at times. I will say that closer to the end, the book did get better of course, and the end was cute, but felt like it was lacking. Overall, I liked the book okay, but wasn’t in love with it.

Decided to start reading again and picked up this book at the library. It was a cute story, but predictable, and I predicted pretty much everything that was going to happen, asides for one small part. Some of this book was good and others parts weren’t as good. It starts out interesting at the beginning and then started going down hill. Some of the chapters were a little boring and drawn out to me, and I didn’t feel on edge. The story was kinda interesting, but is not unique, and I feel like I’ve seen it all before. It felt very lifetime movieish. However, it does have some aspects about it that are unique and I do think the author has a nice way of writing, and it was pretty easy to read. I also really liked the very ending of the book. It’s just that most of the book felt a bit drawn out and just too “I’ve heard it all before.”

I heard about this book from a friend. She loved it, but I just thought it was alright. I think this book starts out really good, but it doesn’t take long for it to feel a bit meh. It feels like it’s trying to lead up to something, but not much happens throughout the very beginning-past middle of the book. I didn’t feel on edge, it wasn’t that suspenseful throughout the beginning or middle, and I could put the book down pretty easily. It was interesting to a certain extent, but not great. Most of the book was mediocre. It also wasn’t that creepy nor scary. Once I got closer to the end, the book started to get more interesting. It got a lot better and then it became harder to put the book down, and was much more suspenseful. But I was able to predict most of the plot twists, almost all. There was only 1 or 2 things in this book that was even close to shocking. I guess I’ve seen too many movies. Overall, most of the book felt drawn out and a tad bit slow, and then got fast paced and good at the end. (It’s like the book was 2 1/2 stars, then went up to 3 stars, then went up to 4 stars. Most of the book was like maybe 3 stars.) The story was interesting. I don’t know if I’d say it was super unique, but it wasn’t bad, so I like the book okay, but I just don’t love it.
