Here are a few pointers so that you can get to appreciate the film more and enjoy it.
1. Before watching the film, watch a documentary called "JODOROWSKY'S DUNE." Its about the 1975 failed attempt to make the film that pretty much set the creative direction for what we call modern day science fiction.
2. Get good sound. Dune (2021) is a film similar to Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, in that the story telling is heavily reliant on sound/Music. If you don't have good sound... Use earphones. Trust me. BTW: Hans Zimmer is the composer in both those films.
3. Set aside 3 hrs of your time as the film has a run time of Two and half hours, and its heavy on dialogue.
4. Understand that Dune is a very, very long story, so this film is just basically an introduction of Frank Herbert's vision.
5. Prepare for breathtaking cinematic visuals... Take them all in and enjoy.
