It's not a documentary. It's not about "sides." It hasn't finished airing, so denouncing anti-Semitic propaganda is premature. The focus is the character Simon and the complexities of Israeli society including racist, bigotry, and hatred among Jews. Before watching, viewers should be aware of terms like Sephardi, Askenazi, Shabak, Haredi, yeshiva, chabad, Druze, and sabbath rituals. The broad spectrum of Jewish life is on display through Simon.
The Palestinian parents are fully fleshed out, compelling characters. Any parent of teenagers can relate to their relationship. But mostly the other Palestinians are seen rioting or mourning. There are only glimpses of the restrictions and injustices faced by Palestinians. But since it's not a documenrary, I wasn't expecting much.
